To keep you updated – I went over the new messages and added them tho the spreadsheet, sent to “Closed tickets” tickets with rates over our mum, and, eventually, copied the whole thing to Googledocs. Please let me know if you can assess it from this link:

All
Please find the updated Excel file attached, which contains all the tickets received from 3:00 pm – 8:00pm (GMT+8), from ticket numbers 695123 going upward to 347829.
The additions in the Excel file are color-coded in blue. I also added the Ticket status in one of the rows, to inform all of us if the ticket is Open (O) or Closed (C) and if it has been replied to or not.
I could access Google Docs as of the moment. Please advise.
Until my working hours tomorrow, thank you.

Hallo!
Ich wollte mal hallo sagen! Aber naturlich nicht, ohne gleich noch eine Frage zu stellen. (-;
Ich sitze gerade an den Zauberspruchen, bei denen sich viel wiederholt, aber so gut wie nichts “rot” ist. Um unnutiges Proofen und uberflussiges ubersetzen zu vermeiden, gebe ich dir mal ein paar Beispiele:
caster
Spirit
HP
Cast time
Cooldown
Jadeon: Comes from Jadeon secrets Forbid Moving
Curse skill/Multi target

Ho
said that we should move to closed section all PROCESSEd tickets not only those who we do not like. and also now he wants not to reject enyone even they are over priced.
Thanks

Hi Arun
Please read again with attention and provide concrete questions.
In the open ticket system we process open tickets from translators and move it to closed section. Processed means all the information given in application from translator is in Excel spreadsheet in PM folder here http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AmlfEgfxF8r3dDBJZXFGNnBvSGNBLTBWZTVzekQ5Smc&hl=en.
I did 23 open ticket there is no open tickets from translators now.
So you can read tickets in closed section and read excel file in the link above and see what we did.
Let me know you questions.

Yes I moved all of 23 tickets to closed section.
Regarding hours you prepare spreadsheet of the project name brief description number of hours and date you worked on particular task.
If you want you can send me a template after you prepare it and I will see if it is OK.
May I ask you personal question? You have a beautiful name which is European , do you have European ancestry?
Thanks

yes, I’ve just been on OT site and saw that everything had been done. I will check later if any new tickets opened.
As to hours, I can’t find hoe to attach a file to the messages, If such possibulity exists, I will send you. I made a spreadsheet with 3 columns: date/hours/completed tasks/
Sure 🙂 I got my Slavic, but quite international name being born in Russia. Also is quite Slavic name, do you originate from same part of Earth?

here are my comments on what asked:
Question:
: I’m currently working on spells and much is repetitive, but very few terms are marked “red”. To avoid
unnecessary proofreading and translating, I will give some examples here:
caster
Spirit
HP
Cast time
Cooldown
Jadeon: Comes from Jadeon secrets Forbid Moving
Curse skill/Multi target
I know what these terms mean, but the translation needs to be consistent and I don’t want to create unnecessary work
for me or the Proofreader.
Answer ():
Communicating with led me to the assumption that we should all either wait for all dictionary terms to be finalized or to translate “around” anything that might be a dictionary term (now or in the future) so later the Transit replacing function (dictionary) could be used on those. Apparently, the client is checking and finalizing the dictionary terms right now. I seem to remember send mass emails around about this and how to proceed, if at all at this time. So it would not make much sense if I gave you () the preliminary dictionary terms for the terms in question, because they still might change. Please check the instructions by on this and, in case of “emergency”, ask again.: Also: There are length specifications in inches, Yards, miles, etc. said to translate 25 yards with 25 meters, which is no problem for yards but possibly becomes a problem when speeds (mph), weights (pounds)) etc. are concerned. This should be correctly localized, in my opinion.
Answer ():
I know from other online role-playing games, that these specifications are sometimes crucial to the execution of certain player actions (following, spells, attacks and many many more). Therefore, I strongly advise against simply converting these units without calculating their true value (may not be a large problem for yards, but for miles inches, weights, etc.). My policy so far has been to simply use the German terms for the non-metric units and leave the numbers as is (that again may be a problem with yards because not everybody knows the conversion rates, but not so much of a problem with weights, inches, miles, etc.). It will also fit well into the overall tone of the translation as many non-metric units were in use in the Middle Ages in Europe. If we were to convert/localize them I agree with you () that accuracy is important.: Moreover, the English original regarding spells is of very low quality sometimes, while especially the spell translations need to be absolutely consistent and correct.
Answer ():
It is true that sometimes it is somewhat difficult to grasp what the developers meant by some spell translations. The standard comment would be to give your best, since the better you grasp and localize even a bad original, the higher the quality of your work and the higher the chance for positive feedback and endorsement by the client. Specifically, spell (and other) translations will probably not be possible without having to revise and adjust parts of the translations more frequently and to greater extent than usual as your grasp and understanding of the game mechanics and translator’s/developer’s intentions gets better and better while translating. It simply is a characteristic of very large projects generally and video games with high consistency needs specifically. While not wanting to patronize you, I have at the time no other comment for that. My expectation is that all this will be much smoother once the dictionary terms get finalized. (gist): Should I now just translate away at the risk of having to/others having to change many things afterwards again? Is there no way to easily communicate with each other (e.g. by a phone call) as I use to proceed with my colleagues?
Answer ():
I (or, if her schedule allows it :-)) will communicate with about how you should proceed, but as I stated, there should be instructions by mail already from . About communication by phone: advocates the use of the communications devices such as email, virtual office forums, expressly to PROTECT THE IDENTITIES AND PERSONAL DATA of his contracted translators. While this may seem to be a certain obstacle for communication sometimes, the value of having your email-adresses, phone/adress data protected is certainly something to consider. I will forward excerpts of this to . I have translateds comments into English for this communication and was wondering if this helps at all. My reasoning was to enable all of us to be informed and to participate in such question/answer messages. If you don’t think that is necessary, please tell me so I will not translate such things in the future; if, however, we can benefit from that, maybe could be asked to submit future questions in English also. If there is need for very “German” responses, I will of course answer in German. Thank you,, and I hope this helps.
